A Mommy First

Yes, Mommies have firsts too! It's not all just about the babies, you know? My best friend Kim and I have been trying to make sure we find time to do the things that we love to do. Kim inspired me to start sewing. She's been making some really cute appliqué onesies and we both planned to make some bibs. Well, I finally dragged out the machine and did it! I can't believe how easy it is to sew. Here is the very first bib I made for Olivia. I also made one for Benjamin and plan to make many more for the zillions of babies in my life (or about to be in my life)! I have plans for changing pads, burp cloths, and anything else I can think of.

  1. Great job Amanda, very nice! I love to sew too, though I haven't done it in a long time! I love your fabric choice!

  2. Benji's bib is adorable...I just made a little appliqued toadstool....Benji napped and Mia went to pick up the CSA order with Grammie--so I took advantage! Hooray....I'm bringing my maching in tomorrow...and then we'll have ourselves an old fashioned sewing bee--sound like fun????

  3. How stinking cute! Your creative side is showing through and I love it! You have inspired me once again to take up an old love of mine - sewing. I used to sew a lot of Kristen and Nikki's clothes. :)

Soooo, where do we place the orders?? I have a feeling that I'm going to go through a LOT of bibs over the next several months! :) Do you have any blue and green samples...??? :)
I LOVE my sewing machine...just don't see myself having the time until...oooo....2010...maybe?
