Also Known as "Damey"

This is my husband Damien.  He's super!  When Cameron's best friend Mia was first learning how to talk she could not say "Damien" and shortened his name to "Damey".  It stuck.  My friend Kim and I call him "Damey" all the time.  I'm not sure he likes it, but he doesn't complain.  That's how super he is!  I'm pretty lucky to have found such a fantastic guy.

Here he is throwing a snowball at me today. He thinks it's hilarious, but what he doesn't realize is that I was not going to stop taking photos to see where the snowball was headed.

Then he realizes that it is about to hit me.  I'm so happy I did not stop taking pictures.  This face is so classic!  Believe me when I say, he is not worried about hitting me, he is frightened that he will hit my camera and I will get really mad.  Ha ha!  Oh Damey, I love you!

Who's That Hottie?

The kids and I took in a football game this afternoon.  Winnisquam versus some green team with an N on their helmets.  When we were there I saw this guy in a black and white striped shirt and he was sooooo hot that I couldn't stop taking photos of him.  I think the rest of the crowd was about to call the cops.

We had a fun time at the game, the kids and I.  We cheered on the referee, watched a girl pass out from not eating, watched the ambulance, police and fire truck pull up, watched a little of the game, tackled each other, and I did a little knitting.  We left at half-time and the kids and I went out to supper.  My kids ate all their dinner, so I treated them to ice cream sundaes.  To top it all off, the guy in the black and white shirt came home with us :)

Kitchen Update

Damien had some time off this week (a long, long story that ends with him being let go at the Post Office, only to be rehired at the Tilton location). So, we made use of his "vacation" by updating the kitchen. Nothing major. Sometimes all you need is a fresh coat of paint and a new attic door to make yourself feel better. Cameron painted most of one wall all by himself. Really! All by himself, it was so cool!

Here is that wall all finished. I love the color! My parents had an extra gallon from painting their computer room, so besides the door, this room update was free! Tomorrow we are painting the window frames (finally) and I am making new valances for the windows. I'll post more photos when it is complete, but it looks great already!

Here is darling Olivia eating Mac and Cheese at her new favorite spot in the "Chichen". When she finished hers, she slid her bowl to Cameron's side, and Cameron's to her side and proceeded to eat his as well!

Speaking of Damien and work, my husband has two jobs, and I love him for it! Yes, it takes him away from us quite a bit, but all this work WILL pay off in the end. We are hoping by this fall he will be able to leave the Post Office. I counted the days that he is gone overnight at the Fire Department in one year (not including overtime and his two weeks at the Fire Academy in the summer) and it comes to 104. That's 14 weeks out of 52 that the kids and I are sleeping without him :( I'm not complaining, because I'm certainly not the only one in this situation, but it is exhausting for those 24 hours that I'm by myself with the kids. But, we make the most of it, and it makes me thankful that we all bedshare because I certainly don't want to be sleeping alone!

Daddy Days

We feel blessed that Damien's schedule and help from Katrina and Grandpa allow for Cameron to stay out of day care. Cameron gets to spend a lot of time with his Daddy. Mommy gets her time too, but here are a couple photos from "Daddy Days".

Father's Day

On Father's Day both sets of Cameron's grandparents were able to spend the afternoon with Cameron at our house. Damien and my Dad (Bumpa as Cameron likes to say) went golfing later on in the day.

Cameron and Paw Paw played in the swimming pool. They had a lot of fun! Cameron kept Paw Paw busy going in and out of the pool.
