Day 168 - The Headband Game

A few days ago I took television, video games, movies and computer away from the kids. They get it back when their behavior improves. Electronic media has never been a big part of their lives, so it is not really a punishment. But, their behavior was getting bad in direct proportion to how much electronic media they were partaking in. Since stopping, the behavior has improved and we are back to imaginative, fun and happy play. Without the TV the kids find other things to occupy their time. Tonight, Cameron made up the headband game. He drew pictures on paper and each person drew a card and placed it under a headband on his or her head. Without looking at their own card each person asked questions of the other players to try and guess what was on their head. This is a game you can buy at a store, but we do not own it, so Cameron improvised. It was so much fun!

  3. I love it when kids use their imaginations. I think all parents should take away media atleast once a week (just because).

  4. We've played that game. It is such a great one for family time. Way to be strong and take away those electronics. I always admire and respect parents that follow through.

  5. LOVE THIS! I am going to have the kids try it. And I really like the idea of making it rather than buying it, so it will be two fun things in one. Great imagination Cam!
