Sunday Citar - Another Day

"Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving." ~ Kahlil Gibran

(Notice I did not use another Wayne Dyer quote, although I could find fabulous quotes by him every week for the next ten years!)

Sunday Citar - Just Be

"Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you." - Dr. Wayne Dyer

I am a fan of Wayne Dyer.  I am reading one of his books right now.  This quote speaks to me.  Some days I feel at odds with my kids and myself because I forget to just let things be the way they are supposed to be instead of how I imagine they should be.  Our days go a lot more smoothly when I start the day remembering this quote.  And just because I love him so much, here is another inspiring quote from the good Dr.:

"I cannot always control what goes on outside.  But I can always control what goes on inside."  I may not be able to control my emotions, but I can let them be what they are and try to understand why they are happening without letting them control my behavior.

Sunday Citar - Forgiveness

"You can't undo anything you've already done, but you can face up to it.  You can tell the truth.  You can seek forgiveness.  And then let God do the rest."   ~ Author Unknown

There is no room in my heart for holding grudges.  There is always room in my heart to love, pray and forgive.  Do not forget to seek forgiveness, but also to forgive yourself!

Day 19

"Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens.  Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.  Brown paper packages tied up with string.  These are a few of my favorite things."

"In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity."  ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Sunday Citar - An Apple A Day

"Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another, 'What? You too!  I thought I was the only one!" ~ C. S. Lewis

My new friend Karen and I took our kids out for a day of misadventures yesterday.  When I first met Karen I told my husband, "I really like her.  We are a lot alike."  My husband responded, "What, so you are both crazy?"  Yup, in a nutshell, that's pretty much what draws Karen and I to each other.

Apple begins with A, or so Cameron tells me.  He's a kindergartener now, so he knows these things.  My children think Ricco is pretty awesome, and I think the feelings are mutual.  It's another friendship in bloom!

I am looking forward to more misadventures with our new friends!

But Dr. Seuss says it best when he says, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!  ~Mark Twain

Sunday Citar

I was inspired by a new blog that I follow, New England Through Yummy Mommy's Eyes to start doing Sunday Citar.  Of course, I think you are supposed to only show a photo and a quote, but I was torn.  Last night Olivia, unprompted by me except trying to get her to smile, performed a photo shoot.  It was hilarious.  So I posted a slideshow with my quote below.

Before you put on a frown, make absolutely sure there are no smiles available.
