Day 237 - July 25th, Staycation

The kids and I spent one night at a hotel with a pool just for the fun of it.  They have been asking me since last Fourth of July when we would stay in a hotel again, so why not?  We went to Manchester and spent the evening in the pool and then went out to dinner.  We went to this restaurant called "Brother's" and the kids ate so much food I thought I might have to order more.  Cameron said he liked it so much he wanted to eat there every day.  So, we went back the next day for lunch.

Olivia has been dunking her head under water with her life jacket on.  I asked her if she wanted to take it off and try swimming under water, and to my surprise, she did.  I stood about five feet away and she went under and swam to me for the very first time.  I am so glad I was there for that milestone event!  Of course, I don't have photos because I was by myself.  The photos would have been no fun if they were of her drowning.  I had a choice, and I think I made the right one ;)

I do have these photos though:

The next day we swam some more before checking out and heading over to the See Science Center.  The place is two floors of hands on science exhibits.  The kids had a really, really good time, as did I!

The special exhibit going on now is all about teeth.  The kids are not impressed with the real dentist, but they had a ton of fun pretending.  Why do we dislike dentist visits so much??

This was actually creative photography on my part.  I took this through plexi-glass and lined up the Manchester Monarchs mascot with the back of Olivia's head.  Reminds me of something out of a horror movie, and her touching her head was perfect!

We are all in this picture... sort of!

Olivia loved the kaleidoscope mirrors and Cameron was thrilled about the big bin of Legos.  We had such a fun time!!
