Today's assignment was to capture a crisp shot of their eyes. Well, I got one eye. I don't like the straight on shots, but when I angle his face I cannot seem to adjust my settings enough to get a bigger DOF. I like this shot anyway! Off topic a bit, that is the hat I knit for him out of hand-dyed Malabrigo merino wool. I love the mottled look of hand-dyed yarn.
He has beautiful eyes! Love your angle! I found your blog through another :)
ReplyDeleteI like the angle you went with, his eyes are so blue and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have the same trouble you do; it's not easy! You did a great job though, the clarity of his eyes (eye?) is great. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the color variations in his eyes; they are gorgeous! WOW!
ReplyDeleteRe DOF. 1/3 or so of your "field of focus" falls in FRONT of your actual focus point. So, maybe focus a bit "past" your actual focus point. In this case, somewhere between the foreground eye and the bridge of the nose. This allows the plane behind your focus point to fall in more acceptable focus. Also, remember that DOF contracts with longer focal lengths, and lengthens with shorter focal lengths.
ReplyDeleteHe's got gorgeous eyes! Love the different colors in them. Cute hat too! Wish I could do that.
ReplyDeleteHis eyes are beautiful. They are such a unique color. I bet they change depending on what he wears.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot Amanda. His eyes are beautiful. Did you edit this at all? Very nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of your handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo of him. I like that you have him turned on an angle also. And I'm so impressed by that hat. Knitting is something I can do, but just well enough to make a straight scarf. Like my sewing. I know only the very basics.
ReplyDeleteCANNOT wait to see your ballet sweater and leg warmers. Can not wait!
Beautiful eyes!
ReplyDeleteYou do such great work knitting! I told my MIL about some yarn you referenced, as she loves to knit projects for my boys. I think that soft yarn looks heavenly to wear:)
I have that same issue when shooting from an angle. Did you ever figure out what to do differently besides closing up my aperture more?
