365 - Warm Toes

Day 18

It's that time of year, when everyone in the house dons their slippers and an extra layer of clothing.  It's chilly in New England, but it's typical, so we do not complain.  We just leave on our wool sweaters after coming in from the cold.  We heat up the rice warmers and snuggle under a blanket.  We do as much as we can to avoid cranking up the furnace.  We are all about energy conservation in this house!  Anyway, it is way more fun to snuggle, I think.

This photo is taken at bedtime.  Bedtime in our house is very routine, which I think is what makes bedtime so easy.  After dinner it's a little play time, then tubby (or not in the winter), then jammies, brush teeth and snuggling in bed with Mama to read two books each.  By the fourth book they can barely hold their eyelids up, and a few minutes later they are in dreamland.  Then the Mama (and the Daddy) can have a little grown-up time.  Tonight we really lived it up and wrapped Christmas presents on the living room floor.  Woo hoo!!!
