Happy Birthday Cameron

On New Year's Eve my baby boy turned 5 years old. Before my eyes this sweet little baby has turned into a boy.

Cameron, you are a kind and gentle soul. You are inquisitive and have a yearning to learn. While others around you may be asking questions or digging right in, you step back and soak your experience in. At times it looks as if you are not enjoying yourself, while really you are just making sure you do not miss a moment.

These five years have been wonderful and trying at the same time. While I spend my days guiding you and teaching you, you are also teaching me. You have taught me to be myself, to love what I have, and to trust my instincts and my heart. There are days when I wonder if I am doing right by you, and then I watch as you bend down to help your sister put on her shoe, or find her favorite color crayon. It is in these small moments that I see the boy you are becoming, and I am proud.


While our days are not always perfect and there are moments when my patience is being tested to its limit, we are blessed that we are able to spend our days together. I know at the end of the day, that moment will be but a distant memory and you will drift off to sleep knowing that your Mama, Daddy and Sister love you forever. And when you awake you will know that we are here for you always.
