Day 138 - Evelyn's Dress

Yes, you read that right.  "Evelyn's Dress", not "Olivia's Dress".  My Mom and I went to this huge local consignment event held twice a year in Laconia.  It is the Lakes Region Nursery Guild Baby Boutique.  Community members bring in used, unwanted clothing, toys and baby gear and sell them on consignment to the rest of the community.  It is HUGE, it is worth the wait in line, and it is always fun!

This year my Mom shopped for three girls.  Olivia got some really cute clothes at some really great deals!  I got a few things for Cameron and Olivia myself.  My Mom found this size 3 dress from Talbot's for $3.50.  Yes, that's right, $3.50!!!  Because it was a size 3 she bought it for Evelyn, but we soon realized it is a big size 3 and would fit Olivia.  Problem is, Olivia is not very kind to her clothes.  I told my Mom that I thought that she should give it to Evelyn because Olivia might ruin it before Evelyn could appreciate it.  Then, Olivia saw the dress and you could just see the dreamy look in her eyes.  My Mom told her she could wear it once before she gave it to Evelyn.

It is a gorgeous dress and will be worn by two (possibly three) gorgeous little girls!

Some more cuteness!  She is showing me the sweater Nana gave her and then of course some brother-sister loving before church.

Next week is Easter Sunday.  I will finally be playing my trumpet in front of a crowd.  I even bought a dress!  At a consignment store, mind you, but it is a dress!

  3. That dress is so sweet- a great bargain! I'm not great about keeping up with all the blogs- are you in New Hampshire? I do genealogy and one of my ancestors lived in Laconia.

That is wonderful that you will get to play your trumpet! Do you not typically wear dresses? I hope you get a picture.

  6. Now that's what I call good CPW (cost per wear. I'm so glad I have a girly-girl because there is nothing cuter than a pretty little girl in a beautiful twirly dress. She sure looks precious in it, and I'm afraid Evelyn just might not end up with this dress...maybe another one, but I think someone has laid claim to this one!
