Where to begin? Let's go in order, shall we?
FRIDAY NIGHT
On Friday, Damien continued his three-year tradition of entering a charity golf tournament through my parents' church. He golfs with my brothers, Nate and Wit, our friend Casey and my Dad.

They have a blast and I can see them doing it every year for as long as it continues. After Emma was picked up for the last time until September, Cameron, Meaghan, Olivia and I headed to Epping to meet up with my family. Since Nate came to golf, Jennifer and Evelyn made the trip as well. Cameron just loves babies (we ought to have more)! He is so gentle and caring and it pleases me to see him interact with Evelyn. Olivia was happy to sit in the rocking chair with ALL the babies she could get her hands on! We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Telly's Restaurant (an old favorite) before calling it a night.
SATURDAY
Since Nate, Jennifer and Evelyn's visits are so rare, I packed the kids up

and headed to southern NH again for a visit. Our friend Michelle is staying at her parents' camp at Hedding and she invited us there for a swim. They have a beautiful treated pond that was perfect for the kids. Cameron got right in the water without hesitation and before long was "swimming" and going out in the deep part with Uncle Nate. Olivia was unsure at first, and cried any time her feet touched the water.

My Mom was gentle, but persistent, with Olivia and she finally started splashing and riding around in Evelyn's turtle. Evelyn LOVED the water and was having a blast the whole time until I took her and she fell asleep. Thanks Michelle for letting us use the pond, it was so much fun!

When we got back to my parents house the three children all took a bath together. It was so cute! My mom commented that it reminded her of my brothers and I, only we were all just a year apart. Yikes! I can't imagine!

Later we went to Salem, NH to visit my Nana in the nursing home. Cameron calls her "Nana 2". We aren't sure how many more of those visits are in our future, so we cherish every moment we are blessed to have with my Nana. It was a very late night for the kids and I, but we made it back to Laconia safe and sound.
SUNDAY
On Sunday we met Brendan, Kelly, Cole, Charlotte, Wayne and Debbie at Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack for the Rotary Nashua West Rock N' Ribfest. It was a beautiful day, hot in the sun but cool in the shade. There were a ton of blow up bouncy things for the kids to play on, and boy did they play!

Cameron and Cole couldn't get enough of the "Dragon" (not a dinosaur Kelly ;) They really enjoyed the slides and just being silly together. Olivia tried out the ball pool, but just stood there holding a ball. It was pretty funny.
What does a vegetarian eat at a ribfest you

might ask yourself? Why, corn

on the cob of course! It was delicious. I brought PB&J and apples for the kids and had half of Olivia's. She was too busy pounding apple juice to care about her sandwich! (Not really, they are empty, but doesn't she look so proud of herself?)
We went to check out the Clydesdales and decided it was time to head back to Brendan and Kelly's house. When the bus got to our parking lot the rain started to pour down. Luckily we were dropped off right next to our cars, but still, we were soaked!

Ethan, Katrina and Aidyn met us at the house for cake (Happy Birthday

Katrina!). All the kids had a blast playing with each other, their aunts and uncles and their Grammy and Paw Paw. Again, I am so glad they are close in age and distance and have many opportunities to play together! Olivia loves Cameron's little chair that Paw Paw gave him last year, and was so excited to see it on the porch at Cole's house too! She loves to climb and chairs are one of her favorite things to climb on.
Then we ended the day with a kiss :)
Awwww...Olivia is so sweet with giving Charlotte a kiss! I didn't see that happen at the time otherwise you can bet this camera-freak would have taken a picture of that! Charlotte looks like she is thinking, "What is this child doing to me?" Someday soon she will give hugs back!
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteIt is too funny when you enlarge the photo of the boys eating their B&J to see the sign "Rock'N Ribfest Restrooms" between/behind them. This is definately one for my wallpaper on my work computer. It was a great day and so much fun seeing the kids have good time together.
Love,
Dad
Looks like you all had a great time. Still miss you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend!
