Another action-packed weekend has come and gone! The summer seems to be flying by already...

Cameron woke up from his nap around 2:30 on Friday and decided he wanted to go to the beach. The sun was poking out from the clouds and it was REALLY hot, so I decided it would be an excellent idea. After about 30-40 minutes of chasing the kids around the house getting their sunblock and bathing suits on, getting my own bathing suit and packing all the beach stuff, we got into the car. As the last buckle was being
snapped I heard the rumble of thunder in the distance. I looked at Cameron and said, "Oh no, I think we're going to have a thunder storm. We can't go to the beach." He was very upset (and so was I) so we headed out anyway. As we began to leave our neighborhood it started to pour and thunder and lightening! Thank
goodness we weren't already at the beach. So, we went for a drive in the rain and ended up driving by Funspot. Cameron saw the sign and yelled, "Funspot! Can we go there?" I told him we would ask his Daddy when he got home from work. The
chances of him saying yes are better now that he doesn't work there. And he did say yes, so that's what we did. It didn't cost anything as Damien still has his connections there, and it was so much fun. Cameron loved the little bumper cars and we spent the whole time on those and with Olivia on the kiddie rides. Cameron is an expert driver. He steered around obstacles like a professional! It was hard getting him to leave, but he was tired and it was time to go. We promised to go back again soon!

Ah, the annual guys day out Baseball game! Damien, Brendan, Ethan, Tyler, Casey and all kinds of other people (some I know, and some I don't) get together and play baseball. Cameron, Olivia and I got to go to visit Kelly, Cole and Charlotte at their house. The plan was to swim, but the weather didn't cooperate. Kelly's neighbor, Lisa and her children Caden and Cole were with us. Gretchen and Emma came later on in the day. We played outside a bit, inside a lot and went to a really great new playground in town. Cameron was being his daring little self at the playground. At times it was hard to keep track of both of my kids at the same time. Thankfully there were a lot of other caring parents nearby to help out. Cole and Cameron were so cute and paused momentarily for a couple of nice photos. Olivia was very curious and is really anxious to be a big kid so she can play too. After the playground we went back to Kelly's house where I packed up the kids and headed to Epping for a visit with my parents before my Mom leaves on a trip to DC.

FRIDAY NIGHT
SATURDAY
SUNDAY
Damien met us in Epping and went to see Wall E with Cameron and my Dad. That left Olivia and I to do something together. The weather was overcast and a little chilly. A great day for Water Country. I'm serious! I took Olivia to Water Country to visit my Mom who was working. It was the perfect day because nobody was in the park. The sun actually peeked out while we were there. Olivia was hesitant at first, but eventually was
walking in and out of the water on her own. At one point I convinced her to sit, which
she didn't really like. The evidence is in the photos. Give her some time and she will soon be the new mascot of Water Country! When the movie ended I picked up the guys. Cameron told me all about the movie
and he really loved it. Damien and Grampa loved it too! I
wish I could have gone, but I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Water Country closed early so we waited for my Mom and went out to dinner at Applebees. I spent the night again because I was too exhausted to drive home. It was a very fun and action-packed weekend!
Stay tuned for the Reasons to Be Cheerful June edition, coming soon!

Thanks friend! I missed you this weekend. Let us know when the gang is free so we can schedule our annual Water Country trip! And thanks for washing Cam's clothes :)
ReplyDeleteHe's asleep already, and Olivia is on her way right now!
Saturday was so much fun! Cole woke up Sunday and asked at least 17 times if he could have people over, saying "Can I have my friends over again, Mommy. I love them." When I told him Cameron was busy he asked me when he could see him again!
