Timber!

We are lucky that our neighbor, Pat, has a tree service as his part-time job/hobby. The tree in our driveway has not been well since we moved here almost 4 years ago. Every winter we would find large limbs in our driveway, sometimes on our car. We have been waiting for the day a car, or our house, was crushed by this tree! Cameron was amazed by Pat up in the tree. He was so excited, he just kept jumping up and down, laughing and screaming. Olivia was pretty amazed herself. Once Pat took off all the limbs and half of the trunk, it was time to let the rest fall. He was very precise in where he made the cuts and the tree fell exactly where he wanted it to. Cameron helped pile up all the logs for our neighbor, Beth. Beth brought over the tractor and trailer to haul the wood over to her house. I am amazed at what a difference it makes with the tree gone. I didn't realize how much space it took up or how much sunlight it blocked. It was a LATE night for Cameron. We weren't finished outside until after 8 p.m. and then he was so excited he couldn't sleep. He didn't fall asleep until 10:30 p.m., but it didn't bother us (nor does it ever) because he had so much fun!!!!!
